Our philosophy at Camp Taconic is for children to thrive and build self-esteem while having fun and making friends.
Initially, our younger campers are introduced to all the activities available at camp. As our campers get older, they develop their individual interests and skills, and we gradually tailor their program to fit their needs. Our oldest campers design their own schedules, with the help of their parents, before arriving at camp each June.
Learning and developing activity skills is only part of what campers gain during their summers with us. We also guide children through life skills and building strong peer connections through group living. Our supportive environment gives them the freedom and structure to learn, grow, and have fun.
The goal of the Camp Taconic Program is to foster these qualities in our campers. We believe that individual choices within a structured program are beneficial to children as they mature.
We endeavor to offer a variety of activities and courses that will appeal to the boys' and girls' inquisitive and creative natures, and will also challenge them mentally and physically.
